Summer portrait Session with the Smith Family

I met this mom in my former days at SUNY Poly and our paths crossed again when I was working as a newborn photographer at a local hospital.  She had just given birth to her darling daughter. Since then I have had the opportunity to photograph this family and watch their children's personalities blossom. We met up last fall for a session at Thacher Park and their I witnessed the children's love of sticks.  They used them as light sabers and swords with each other.  I was in awe of the sister's spunky personality and fierce determination to hold her own with big brother.

We met up again this summer for a session with them and their extended family. And once again, they found some sticks and had a good time playing with each other. Well, until there was one stick left.

Spring Project 1 - Project Impact

It was a busy spring and I am truly grateful for it. My goal has been to incorporate some more corporate photography work into my portfolio and this spring I was given some opportunities.

Project 1 - I got a call to do a quick photo shoot for a video awareness piece called Project Impact that sheds light on Hepatitis C. What this project taught me is the importance to change directions quickly.  Because I was working in tandem with a video production crew, I wasn't able to adjust lighting as I expected, due to being short on time.  So, I just ran with it. Like always, it worked out and the images came out good.  Learn more about Project Impact. You can also watch the video here.

Winter Wonderland - see you next season (let's hope)...

We have had a snowy season this year and I was finally able to get out and capture some of it. These two images are from the last blast we received. The other is from a snow shoeing adventure.  Even though it looks pretty, I am hoping we are truly done with the colder temps and the snow.

Newborn Portrait Session with Miss Olivia

I had the opportunity to spend time with this lovely family and photograph their sweet newborn Miss Olivia Ryan.  She was alert most of the shoot, but managed to give us some of her best sleep looks.

Environmental Portraits - Tress Capitol Advisors

My first project of 2017 focused on environmental portraits for Tress Capitol Advisors. The backdrop was a beautiful farm house with lots of natural light and my subjects were pretty great too!
